Creepy Scarlett is a delightful webcomic created by Graeme Buchan. Creepy Scarlett, the main character is a slightly odd, samurai sword wielding, candy loving lady who’s BFF just happens to be a teddy bear.
The biggest question that I have after reading volume one is, is Creepy Scarlett good, or evil? I have been assured by Graeme that the origin of this mysterious lady in black will soon be revealed in upcoming issues.
Creepy Scarlett is extremely funny with small parodies of typical comic book/action movies that include a bad guy with an eye patch and comments on how “shiny” Creepy Scarlett’s ass is. She even has to take a cab to get to the bad guy as she does not in fact have a “Scarlett-mobile”.
I loved, of course, the chapter where Scarlett got to fight zombies. The graphics are particularly impressive when she is wielding her samurai sword and beheading the walking dead.
So far, this series is quite awesome. Creepy Scarlett seems pretty badass, and isn’t defined by her gender, although she is called girl on numerous occasions.
She’s just a fun character who wants to eat candy, have tea parties in a cemetery and maybe get a little revenge on a town that has wronged her… Whether or not Scarlett is a little touched in the head, she’s alright in my books. Who doesn’t like candy anyway?
