So, I have come to the realization that I need to clarify what it is that I am asking for. When I stated that I require any work to involve female leads and no romantic story lines, it sounded a bit harsh.

To clarify, stories/comics etc submitted can have male characters. I’m not asking to push men out of the nerd genres, I think there are a lot of really awesome male characters out there. But the requirement is that female characters be overwhelmingly present and in a main role.

Also, the whole romance thing, I’m not hating on love stories. I just want to prove that women don’t sit around thinking a talking about their love lives or finding their perfect mate. That being said, romance can be a fun additive to a story as long as it doesn’t become the main thread in a characters development.

I realized that I may sound like a man-hating radical feminist and wanted to clear the air. Men are welcome to submit works, and in fact the only two submissions I’ve had have been from men.

Thank you for checking out my blog. If you have a submission please email it to me at

About Mighty Damsels

I am a sick and tired nerd. Male characters have dominated the action/sci-fi/fantasy genres for far too long. No more will women be in distress, cast as the "girlfriend" or made to wear tight leather pants. Ladies! Raise up your swords, M16's, phaser guns and pens!

I’d be a pretty odd story if there were no men in it at all. What’s the female equivalent of a sausage-fest?
